Polyalthia longifolia
This is false Ashoka which is very similar to Saraca asoca, but more cold-hardy. It is also called Mast Tree because it was used for ship masts. This Ashoka is native to Southern India and Sri Lanka. It is an evergreen tree with a pyramidal growth pattern and weeping branches. A very unique-looking tree! The leaves are dark green with a long narrow shape and serrated-looking edge. In Phoenix, provide morning sun and afternoon shade. Plant in rich fertile soil that is well-draining and slightly acidic. No winter protection is required
