Ginger is an understory plant and needs dappled shade. It will grow well in a container or in-ground. Ginger needs a well-draining soil rich in organic matter with a soil pH ranging from 5.5-6.5. Protect below 55 degrees Ginger can be harvested 10 months after planting.
