Growing in Phoenix: This much-loved vine will grow in Phoenix!  Wisteria is incredibly fragrant with drupes of stunning lavender blooms. In Phoenix, they bloom around March-April. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil, with a pH of 6-7. A rich fertile soil that is well-hydrated is best. These will need morning sun to bloom, but an afternoon shade area is needed in Phoenix. 

Can be container grown.  No winter protection is needed, they are deciduous.
