Growing in Phoenix: Extremely rare! Star gooseberry goes by many names including Tahitian gooseberry and Malay gooseberry, however, it is believed to have originated in Madagascar. The plant produces small yellow berries that are sweet and tart. It is said to have many health and nutritional benefits. It is a small tree that requires fertile well-drained soil. Star Gooseberry is best grown in a pot. Grow in a location that has afternoon shade or filtered sun all day. Protect below 40℉.
