Growing in Arizona: Fast growers! Full sun, cold hardy. Great for privacy screens. I grow a lot of this around my yard. 6 inches off the block walls, 2ft from the pool. I wish I had room for more. Super easy to grow. Frequent, small amounts of water best, keep damp in summer. Likes alot of organic material, mulch, compost, worm castings, manure. I have been growing this type for ten years at my home, just planted another 50 at the new property. Oldhamii is a CLUMPING bamboo, not running.
