Annona reticulata
Growing in Phoenix: Also called sugar apple. The fruit tastes like a sugary custard, the pulp is white to a light buttery yellow. It comes apart easily in segments. And is dotted with a few black seeds. Ornamental-looking fruit is an impressive conversation piece in the garden. Once established custard apple can handle full sun. It requires a soil pH of 6.0. Protect when temperatures are below 30℉. Suitable for container culture in a pot of 30 gallons or larger.
