Description

Growing in Arizona: Noni is a medicinal fruit that is professed to combat nearly every ailment of the body from cancer to allergies. Most notable is the fruit’s detoxifying juice which lowers blood pressure, regulates menstruation and wards off infection. There are literally hundreds of scientific studies and testimonials published on various websites that tout the fruits healing powers. They can be container-grown or planted as a specimen and the trees begin fruiting at just one year of age. Great value since the tree fruits year round – one tree can provide a steady supply of noni (noni juice can cost upwards of $20 per bottle!). Also can be grown virtually anywhere in a container so can be enjoyed even in cold climates. Shade when hot, bring inside in winter. Beautiful foliage, very tropical in appearance.

Morinda citrifolia

Growing in Phoenix: Noni is related to coffee and it is native to South East Asia and Australasia. It is also known by a few other names including Indian mulberry. It is used for dye-making, skincare, pain relief, and immune support. It can be consumed raw, it is said to have one of the highest antioxidant levels of any plant when consumed raw. It is a beautiful tree with thick glossy foliage. Noni is ultra tropical, it needs 50% shade cloth or filtered shade all day. It is also very cold-sensitive. Therefore, it is best to container grow so that it can be moved indoors during winter when temperatures are below 45℉. They will fruit in Phoenix.
